Happy Spring!

April is an exciting month in Casey Jones Village as we celebrate many milestones - Casey Jones Day that commemorates the life and legend of railroad hero Casey Jones, the founding of the Old Country Store in 1965 and the founding of Casey Jones Village in 1978. Save the date for Saturday, April 28th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. We'll be having a day of festivities along with the Celebrate Art festival at the Art in the Village gallery and the Casey Jones Days old-time music jam with the Jackson Area Plectral Society. Join us!
Thank you!! What an honor to receive the The Jackson Sun Readers' Choice Award for Best Overall Restaurant, Best Local Attraction and Best Southern Cooking. We are thrilled. We also were very happy to receive the Runner-up Award for Best Place for Children's Entertainment and Best Buffet. Thank you to the readers of the Jackson Sun newspaper and the Jackson Sun for sponsoring this annual awards program.

Very exciting news!
We are proud to announce that Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum will be featured on "Tennessee Crossroads", the popular television show from Nashville Public Television! We really enjoyed our filming with them. Be sure to tune in if you can. If you are not a resident of Tennessee be watching for updates when they post the segment on their website: http://wnpt.org/productions/crossroads/v2/
Last week several of us attended the Tennessee Association of Museums conference in Memphis! It was fun and informative. We love being a part of this wonderful group. www.tnmuseums.org
Thursday, March 8th was a historic day here in Casey Jones Village as Music Highway Crossroads served as the venue for an international broadcast to England in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, Magic FM 105.4 and Adventures in Radio. In this unprecedented event, a listenership of 1.5 million people enjoyed a four hour broadcast from the Music Highway Crossroads stage. Our thanks to the local media for covering this event: The Jackson Sun, WBBJ-TV and EPlusTV6.

Guests included music legends who call the Jackson area home - Rayburn Anthony, W. S. Holland, Carl Mann and Stan Perkins. Musical guests were our own Steve Patterson who is the manager at Music Highway Crossroads, Jimmy D. Taylor and Clayton Crowell. Enjoy this wonderful original tune they played during the show: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_syZ86XpPw&feature=share
