Amber Kendrick Memorial Benefit to Be Held July 23rd in Casey Jones Village

(Jackson, TN) Casey Jones Village will host the Amber Kendrick Memorial Benefit on July 23, 2011 to raise money to help the Kendrick family start a non-profit organization called The Amber D Rescue in honor of their daughter Amber Kendrick. On May 31, 2011, after being struck by a drunk driver while riding her horse, Amber lost her life. The event will run from 10:00 am - 9:00 pm at the Casey Jones Village Amphitheatre located behind the Old Country Store.

There will be a motorcycle bike run that will meet at Casey Jones Village at 10:00 am and will depart at 10:30 am. Those interested can join the run for a fee of $10 per bike. Additionally, there will also be a car cruise that will take place to pay tribute to Amber. Other activities include carnival rides, a rock wall, petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, feather hair extensions and a birds of prey exhibit.  Those attending who make a purchase at the event will receive a coupon for free admission that day to the historic Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum.  There will also be a raffle during the event for gifts that have been donated by various merchants in the community. The top item being raffled will be one of country music superstar Brad Paisley's personal cowboy hats that has been autographed.

There will be live music from various local artists and bands on stage throughout the day. Scheduled to perform are The Hot Country Band, Brian Moffit, John Lone Eagle, Steve Patterson, Hunter Pearson, William New, Abbie Bayless, Jay Ann Washam, West Middle School Chorus where Amber attended school, Barbershop Quartet, Servants Heart, Tony Hill and Jeff Smith Trio.

A Message from Charles Kendrick:

All monies received from the event will go into the non profit organization that is being established in honor of Amber Dominique Kendrick, called The Amber D Rescue. The organization will be focused on the rehabilitation of neglected horses and troubled children in the West Tennessee area. The horse rescue will be the avenue for rehabilitating youth through the nurturing and care of these neglected animals. Clinics and workshops will be conducted to teach children how to connect and care for these animals. Facilities will be established on site to house these animals, and also to facilitate the teaching of youth in the process of the steps it takes to bring these animals back to health. The rehabilitated animals will be relocated to a good home upon their successful rehabilitation, and the children will be offered a chance to continue in the ongoing process of such through volunteering their time at the Amber D.

Casey Jones Village is located at 56 Casey Jones Lane in Jackson, Tennessee.
