West Tennessee Idol Update
Posted April 2011: We were proud to be the first stop on the current 2011 WYN 106.9 West Tennessee Idol/Texaco Country Showdown tour. Auditions for this year's country music singing competition were on Saturday, March 26th in the Theater at the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum. It was held in partnership with our friends at WYN 106.9 and sponsored by E. W. James & Sons Supermarkets and Coca Cola.
Other auditions have already been held at E. W. James Supermarkets in Huntingdon and Dresden. Remaining dates will be at E. W. James stores on April 16th in Brownsville, April 23rd in Paris and April 30th in Troy. The annual Country Showdown is designed to find the most promising country music talent in America. Hundreds of local talent contests are held across America and sponsored by country music radio stations like Jackson's WYN 106.9. Winners advance to the State competition, then regional, then nationals. It's a wonderful opportunity for aspiring singers.

We're proud of our own Kayla Strong who auditioned at the Museum. She did a great job!
