Christmas Eve Breakfast News
Monday, December 27th, 2010:
We trust you and yours had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did. The Christmas Eve Breakfast was our largest Breakfast in the 26 year history of the event with 2,200 people in attendance in the hours we were open in the restaurant from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm. It was an incredible day. We had the majority of our 100 employees on hand to serve our guests and they did a great job on both the buffet and the service. Hearty thanks to the over 45 musicians and singers who entertained with live music that day. The Casey Jones Barbershop Chorus, Wildwood Express, the Norvell Family, Highway 54, Ellen Appleton, the Spurlock Family and Jen and Brandon McDonald. It was wonderful! We appreciate the media coverage of the event by the Jackson Sun and WBBJ-TV. They are so great to us! We thought you would be interested in these numbers from the Christmas Eve Breakfast from our GM Jeff Hale. On Christmas Eve from 6:30 am to 2:00 pm our remarkable kitchen staff served 840 pounds of eggs, 2,432 sausage patties, 510 pounds of bacon, 700 pounds of country ham and 2,880 biscuits. Now that's a lot of groceries.
We are so honored that families choose to spend this special day together with us. As our CEO Clark Shaw said to the staff before we opened the doors, "We of course want the food and service to be excellent but remember it is more about family and Christmas traditions and making memories for countless families. It's a day of giving back and thanking the community for its faithful support of what we do throughout the year."
I have posted an album of pictures from the Christmas Eve Breakfast on our Facebook page at "Brooks Shaw's Old Country Store". We also have a page at "Casey Jones Village". We were very honored to feature the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-South as our guest charity this year.
Happy New Year! The restaurant is open Friday from 6:30 am until 5:00 pm on New Year's Eve with the Gift Shoppe open until 6:00 pm. The Old Country Store is open for lunch and supper on New Year's Day at 10:00 am until 9:00 pm. Y'all come!
