Woofstock '09!
Updated Saturday, September 19th, 2009: Call it "dogged" determination if you like but the show must go on and it did and we had a ball at the 2009 Woofstock in Casey Jones Village. We really weren't trying to recreate the muddy scene at the original Woodstock. Concerned it might literally be raining cats and dogs, the weather was very iffy at first but we made it just fine with lots of animal rescue organizations coming together and making it a great day for the public and very educational too. Many thanks to the sponsors of the event...the Old Country Store included...and to event organizer Elizabeth Dunn, Companion Pet Rescue and Transport and Loving Paws rescues. We were honored to be a part of it. We appreciate the participation of the Jackson Police Department Canine Unit, ARK R.A.I.N. Wildlife Sanctuary and the many vendors and Jackson media for their support including WNWS 101.5, the Jackson Sun newspaper, WBBJ TV, VIP Jackson and the West Tennessee Examiner.
Updated Friday night: Despite all the rain, Woofstock is still on. It will be at the covered concrete floored Amphitheater behind the Old Country Store. Please park at the Village and walk down the short road to the Amphitheater since the field is so wet from the rain this week. We will update our website by 9 am if anything changes. Thank you!
Woofstock is this Weekend, September 19th, 2o09!
