Country Music Dance This Weekend!  Don't miss the big dance Saturday night, June 6th at the Casey Jones Village Amphitheatre!  7 to 10 pm.  Largest dance floor in West Tennessee with one side for two-step and the other for line dancing.  All completely under cover. Featuring the great music of LOWER 4ORTY on the main stage.  Y'all come!  Only $5 per person.

We also have a booth at the Shannon Street Bluefest downtown this weekend.  Stop by and see us.  We'll have our Old Country Store concessions trailer there serving up delicous food both Friday & Saturday!  Check out the details of the festival at www.downtownjackson.com .

Granpa Cratchet's Puppet Show is a big hit at Kids Night at the Old Country Store.  His summer hours are Mondays from 5 to 6 pm in the Barnside Room.  Bring the kids out for supper and a hilarious puppet show with Granpa.  Here's the scoop on that:  Monday Night is Kids Night!  4 pm to 9 pm.  With One Paid Adult Buffet 2 Kids Eat Free from the Buffet.  Dine in only.  Kids 12 & under.  Birthdays excluded.  Families only...not groups of 12 or more.  Not good with any other discount or coupon.  Bring the kids for a fun night out at the Old Country Store every Monday night! 

May 31st bring the family after church for a new event called Sunday on the Square ~ a part of 18th Annual Shannon Street  Bluesfest held each year in historic Downtown Jackson.  We are catering delicious box lunches so come check it out on the Court Square.  Our friends  from the Jackson Downtown Development Corporation put this on Bluesfest annually and it just gets bigger and better each year.  Read all about it at

June 4th at 6:00 pm enjoy the sounds of Southern gospel music at the Gospel Supper Club held quarterly at the Old Country Store.  Show begins at 6 pm in the Barnside Room featuring "Blessed Assurance" from Tiptonville, Tennessee.   For more information call show producer John Blankenship at 731.668.0890.
 
It's going to be a big day in Selmer, Tennessee a short drive down south on  Highway 45~ the Rock-a-billy Highway ~ on June 13th.   Help celebrate the  one-of-a-kind musical heritage of Rock-a-Billy and an unparalleled artistic achievement as the Rock-a-billy Highway Revival event comes to McNairy County Tennessee Saturday June 13th.   A complete schedule of events will be posted to the AiM blog at:  www.artsinmcnairy.blogspot.com   

Casey Jones Barbershop Chorus 30th Anniversary   6:30 pm    June 16th.    Celebrate this remarkable milestone with us in the Ice Cream Parlor at the Old Country Store.

Seniors enjoy a special price of $7.00 on the Old Country Store Buffet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00  pm to 9:00 pm.  For Seniors 60 and over.  Dine in only.  Not good for groups of 12 or more.  Does not include drink, tax or gratuity.  Seniors receive the salad garden & fruit bar, buffet, bread and dessert for that amazing price on Tuesday and Thursday weekly.   

Old-time string music is a hit around here every Thursday night with the Club Jam of our friends with the Jackson Area Plectral Society.   Come enjoy the pickin' and grinnin' each week through October.  Lawn chairs welcome.  Music starts around 6:30 pm.  Free fun!

One of most popular shows is Songwriter's Depot.  Produced by Shane Connor with WYN 106.9, it's a live acoustic country show featuring Nashville's finest singer/songwriters performing their hits. It's held monthly on the 4th Thursday.  June 25th we will welcome back local favorite Jimmy Melton and friends.  More on that soon.   Call WYN for reservations at 731.427.9616.  www.wwyn.fm



Of course, the big excitement of the summer will be the opening of the Train Station expansion at the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum.  The beautiful new building is 7,500 square feet.  It features a new theatre to view a short video on the story of Casey Jones, a new exhibit hall, Jackson Railroad room and all new train store featuring all things trains complete with a children's reading area.  You're going to love it!  Our Ribbon Cutting and Dedication will be held on Friday, June 19th at 11:00 am.  This historic occasion is open to the public and we invite you to join us for the festivities.
